We just recieved the automatic battery powered air pumps.

These are cool, all you do is plug in to ac outlet, put air stone in aquarium and you have a cheep automatic back-up system for your aquarium!...Bubbles go on when power goes off.

Hopefully we won't need anything...but since we are at the peak of Hurric...don't even want to say it....It helps to be prepared.

I could see that really being worth it if you were leaving your house for a hurricane, just set them up in your tanks before you leave. From my past experiences these things run forever on a good set of batteries.

Are these one or two battery models, and what is the going price ?

They run on 2 D batteries. $19.99

Yeah, they are worth it, to know you don't have to be there. It definatley buys you some needed time.

I use those on all my tanks when we evacuate. I can honestly say they've saved tanks more than once.

Just for reference they can run about 24 hours before they need their batteries changed
