Few pics from the tank...

Post by Buzz »

Don't know if I've ever posted any pics of my tank. Took a couple yesterday so I'll give it a shot.

Later,

This is my branching goniopora. I would love to have a whole tank of these.

This is the newest thing in the tank. Not sure how long it will take this carnation coral to open up.

Goniopora

Post by reefman8471 »

Your Goniopora looks fantastic. How long have you had it?
I know many times they do well for a few months and then start to waste away. I hope yours does really well for a long time.

Goniopora

Post by Buzz »

James,

I've had it for about 7 months. I guess I got lucky and found a spot that it was happy right from the start. I don't do anything special like spot feeding. It seems to be getting what it needs naturally.

I don't know if anyone else has to move things around until you find a spot where a certain coral is happy but sometimes I have to move stuff a couple of times.

Actually, you have a branching Alveopora species, which has 12 tentacles, whereas their Goniopora cousins have 24. They are still just as difficult and beautiful though. Good job, it looks great!

Alveopora

Thanks Andrew,

Its amazing how much there is to learn about this hobby. Does anyone know where I can get these in other colors? I need to add some reds or oranges to my tank.

How long have you had that Goby ? I never had any luck getting one to stay healthy. Although mine would eat they always looked really thin.

Snoop,

I guess I've had him for about 6 months or so. I guess I got lucky, he eats like a pig.

I know what you mean about the branching Alevopora, I have one as well, right in with the Gonioporas. I love them.

Those pictures are excellent. :)
