What on earth do you do to pass the time away when you can't sleep? Or better yet, what do you do to get to sleep (heh, non-medicinal, please--even though I don't operate heavy machinery...). I can't stand this. Not sure if it is the fact that I am tired and can't sleep or the boredom that ensues. I just need to sleep

Ugh, I hate when that happens. Sometimes doing something mindless and staring, like a computer arcade game will help me.....I'm usually too grumpy about not sleeping to read.

Honestly, if you're not adverse to it, a glass of wine will help you go to sleep. I'm not a huge fan of wine, but it works better than alot of things. If you're not used to drinking it, one small glass will do. If you're of age to drink wine, that is......don't want to get in trouble or anything... :P

Heh, I'm of age, but I don't have the stomach (or taste) for wine. Reading might be a good idea--especially a boring book. But I am like you in that I am too irritated and impatient after not being able to sleep.

Well I would rather get to sleep than try to pass the time. I will either drink a glass of wine or take something like Benadryl. Now I may surf the web a little while waiting for the effect.

Melatonin is a natural herbal remedy for sleep. You can easily find it at any healthfood store even Walmart. It is a seratonin replacement and all natural....no drugs.
You can also try herbal tea, like Celestial Seasons "Sleepytime". This is also all natural ingredients. Carol
