My 46 gallon reef tank

Post by jdmorgan20fan »

This is my 46 Bowfront reef tank. About 3 months ago it was a 20 gallon long reef tank when i found this tank. I was wanting to put a metal halide on it with t-5's but the power compacts were already built in. I just recently added 10 blue leds built in. I don't like the sump way so i am trying to keep it simple but it's hard. I have a Penguin 400 filter, a prizm skimmer, and a 25 watt uv sterilizer. I only get frags, mostly because that is what i can afford and i like to see them grow. I am still new to this and could probably only name like three corals. I am starting to frag corals and fragging mushrooms. Its nice to see that everything is growing so much that i am running out of room but that means i can't buy more. All i have in there is a clownfish, engineer goby, a bangaii cardinal, and a firefish goby. I am planning on a mandarin goby, mimic yellow tang, and a half black angel. I have a 65 gallon predator tank that i have a niger trigger, a picasso trigger, a panther grouper, and a scopas tang. I am going to try to put pics of it on here soon. My next plan, money deciding, I want to get a square tank that is taller than wide and i want to put live rock up the back of it and have about 7 dwarf fuzzy lionfish in it. It will be the never put my hands in it aquarium. These pics are from my cell phone so they aren't so good. I will be replacing them with better pics.

Nice. :D That Xenia looks happy. Don't know that you can support that many more fish tho, might be best to stick with what you have, at least for now. Engineer Gobies get quite large for a 46.
