small white things

I also had an outbreak of some small white things. They were kind of an oval shape with tenacles at the top. I tried to draw a picture of it so maybe you can tell what it is. I killed them with a syringe and lemon juice.

They're probably sponges...I have a ton of them...

They're interesting, but kinda ugly, and they seem to be keeping my GSP closed... :roll:

White or tan ? Tan could be aptasia. Do they recess into the rock when something waves in front of them ?

Kinda off white. not really tan. and they do not recede into the rock

I'm not positive but I think I know what you're talking about, if so and you have a power filter they are prob all in there too they don
t really harm anything if thats what it is they are just litle polyped filter feeders if that is what it is.

They're pretty much wiped out now. I've found that they have a strong aversion to a tooth brush

Give them time--they'll be back. If you left as much as a patch of cells, they'll spring back. In any case, they are harmless, except for impeding filter flow. They are commonly known as pineapple sponges, the two major genera being Scypha and Sycon.

Oh yeah, they usually grow in high water flow, low light areas. I used to find those in the drain on my 26 gallon.
