Black Acrylic

Post by Fishfood »

Does anyone know of a place locally that sells sheets of black acrylic. I really only need a piece that is 1ft square. It doesn't need to be thicker than a 1/4 inch and could possibly be thinner than that.

call this guy. His shop is right behind nordan smith near the same area as progressive.

Plastic material sales inc 661 2247.

I have bought clear acrylic material from him numerous times and I think I remember seeing some smaller dark cut offs.

What are you using it for?
I only ask because depending on you answer couldnt you just paint a clear piece?
Depending on use only one side would need to be informed.

I'm using it for a false wall for a 5.5 gal nano I'm putting together. I don't want to paint it. I found a place on line if I don't find something local.

Fish- if you need weld-on I have some. A large tube of #16 and a quart or so of #4. You can't have them but you are welcome to use some.

I shouldn't need it. I have some 16. I'll be using silicon to attach the wall to the glass.

but weld-on does not bond to glass either. I've made a few sumps from glass tanks with plexi or acrylic dividers all done with silicon. Never had a problem. Actually I had a hell of a time trying to remove some of the dividers when I wanted to change things up.
