After much searching, I believe it is Pectinia paeonia. It gets soft and swells but I see no visible polyps. It reminds me of cabbage coral (Sinularia Dura), the way the branches feel to the touch, rubbery.

Pretty cool, the round circular thing at the bases of the stalks look like the insides of a candy coral(calaustra?). I wonder if it is fragable?

I beleve that they have polyps on the tips of the branches, but they rarely extend them. You can frag them although they are notoriously slow growers.

I've been thinking about the fragging. I guess you could, I think I would be scared to on this one. The little round things are mouths on the base of the valleys. As long as I was careful of those it prob wouldn't be too bad. I haven't fed them, and have just figured out what they are this very morning. Ahh... the wonders of a reef tank :)

Yeah brandon it did look like the mouths on the green calaustra we use to have when the lights are out does it extend its little tenacles? and feed?

I have yet to see it elicit a feeding response.. I have a "moonlight" at night, and don't know if this would effect it or not.

Scott or someone , if you see this.. do you think I could con it into feeding by blowing a little juice from a food cube or something across the mouths?? Or is there something else that I as a newbie don't know about , that would make it extend it's feeding polyps?

Thanks
