FS in Daphne: lots of liverock, equipment, salifert kits

Post by ShagMan »

I got a "hot tip" from Mike @ Waggytail, and visited a nice guy over in Daphne, and bought most of his livestock. I was short on cash, or I would have bought up just about all he had (!!), so my got his OK to post what was left, so you guys can nab it. He lives in Pelican Bay apartments in Daphne, close to the interstate, and his number is 251-447-0411, his name is Jeff, and he's available in the evenings from around 6pm on. Here's what he's got for sale:

90 gallon tank (non-drilled, non-reef-ready), 48x18x24 (24" tall) with nice stand, and two 4' strip lights with actinic NO bulbs. The tank was very clean, silicone on corners looked perfect, no scratches on the front or sides, kept very well. $250 obo

large/healthy bi-color angel... NON coral safe, he's a nipper.

60-70lbs of liverock @ $2/lb. This is mostly fiji, with a chunk or two of tonga. Almost all the rock is super purple because it is stacked on the back wall of the tank, almost vertically, so got lots of light.

2-3" live sand bed (48x18 footprint)... call to find out, he might give for free, or might ask small fee for it.

equipment:
27GPD RO unit (no specifics) $50
remora pro HOB skimmer $100
Coralife 8 watt UV sterilizer, fairly new bulb $50
lots of small misc stuff, a large skilter, some powerheads, heater, etc.

test kits... these are all salifert, and are barely (if at all) used... they all had dust on 'em... $5 each regardless of which test kit.

magnesium
nitrate
phosphate
alkalinity
boron
silicate
calcium
PH
nitrite
activated carbon
ammonia
dissolved oxygen

get it fast, and tell Jeff that I sent you.

update: Jeff called, mostly to see how the livestock I got from him was doing... everything is doing great, the power blue doesn't even have ich on him... and he also wanted me to post the 90T and stand for sale for him. It's a beautiful tank, if a bit tall for the size.

I wish I had more $$ to buy more of the kits... I'd like the magnesium kit, but I'm still bone broke. I made use of my kits today... I found that my strontium is fine, my calcium levels are 350-360 or so, I have NO phosphates, sweet, but oh no, I have ZERO iodine, zero... is this a Very Bad Thing[tm]?

Something that's kinda cool, part of the strontium kit is a calcium test, so you don't need both.

Anyone got an idea about iodine? I guess I need to supplement this?
