i dont think it was meant to read as a 1 1/2 DSB but a 1 1/2 deep, sand bed....

Another thing to do is get some nars. snails... they do a good job stiring up the sand bed...

only downside might be a little algae here and there.

also worried about bleaching... just make sure he has some shaded areas, or stays away from the lower light species.

I could probably pull some small detail like the icecaps with the right filters. I can get mars to look @ the size of a hole in a piece of notebook paper and its so bright.

I am going to go somewhere to view mars tonight, I will try to get a shot.

you might have to take one and photochop it. the problem with the higher mag eye pieces is that the focal length and hole for viewing gets smaller so my simplistic way of just holding the cam to the piece doesnt work well, as you get a black circle around the image. Do you want something like this? ...
