Re: Frags

Damn, Zack I'm sorry to hear that. When I still lived at home before I went off to college my parents house had been broken into 13 times--God as my witness. Crack heads during the '80's. Anyway, I know how it feels. It's not so much the physical stuff, it's just that fact that som P.O.S. viloated y...

Re: Sump Build

I'll put something together for you and get a rough idea. What size are you looking for though as far as working volume? Also, what equipment (skimmer etc.) and what functions would you want? By functions I mean, would you want a refugium area as well or just a flow through system.

Sump Build

Here is a picture of the sump I've built for BTompkin. It measures 55x21x18 and has a working volume of 38 gallons and a total volume of 90. It is made from 3/8ths acrylic. Brock has a friend that has a C&C machine and he cut all of the part. Perfect edges all around. The link is to Photobucket ...

Re: 20 Gallon Long Amazon Biotope

Sure, no problem. I will say however, that the experiment we ran was on prey capture ability of largemouth bass in turbid water--fancy name for "can bass still eat in crappy water"! We were trying to determine if a bass can hunt prey as effectively in water clouded by construction or clear...

Re: 20 Gallon Long Amazon Biotope

I know in college we ran an experiment and we needed to "tan" the water. We actually ordered tannin in a bottle. I have no idea where we got it from, but I'm sure an internet search would get you what you need. Would sure speed the process.

HTH and tank is looking great.

Re: Update On My 100 gal.

Surprising that you had negative reactions to the AZ-NO3. I've used it for about a year now (off and on) and never once had any negative reaction with anything. I have two RBTA's and they could have cared less and all of my corals and fish didn't care either. My tank had NO3 at 20ppm and I was at 0 ...

Would you list the corals you have and do you have any pics of them?
