All who believe in the power of prayer, please start praying for LA. I fear they are going to be anilated with this damned thing. Our daughter is right in the path and won't leave.
Yeah but it sure will be clean after. Not hoping for death or destruction but you have to admit that Bourbon Street needs a cleaning.

So lets get a quick idea who is staying for this one.I ran from all
of them but this one. This will be the one that kicks my A--.I went
to lowes today purched a gen and a/c unit and boarded up just in
case.
I am staying. If things are bad but the roads are ok (afterward) I have access to a genset (that I will have to fix before it will run and will try to get one after this) so I may be ok. Since I am close to the Bay and Dog River I will be keeping a very close eye on the water.

I wasn't alive so I can't comment too much but my parents and grandparents sometimes talk about Camille like most Mobilians talk about Frederic. There is also a book showing the aftermath of Camille and it is awesome the strength that is had and the devistation. Some of the pictures of former neighborhods looked like pastureland with some debris and foundations. I was able to go to Dauphin Island as soon as they got the ferry running after Frederic and the damage was amazing. I can remember seeing pilings where houses were and maybe a toilet or one interior room standing. There were also appliances found hundereds of feet away from their original locations. My uncle actually stayed on the island during Frederic (I think the only time he ever left the island was to get beer). Their house survived all the storms from the early 60's until Eleana (I think 1985). If this thing does like Ivan and move to the east before it hits we might as well all bend over...
