mystery shrimp

Post by mykpoz »

hey all,

any ideas on the species of shrimp here? I have been fighting him for months... he hasn't wanted to get his picture taken, as he is usually back up in some LR. But in this picture he decided to grab some mysid out in the open during feeding time.

Thanks

Cant narrow it down to a genus or species, but I can tell you that it is the family Palaemonidae--which includes Periclemenes sp as well as ghost shrimp and other cheliped-bearing prawns. Do a search to see if you can narrow it down some more.

cheliped now theres a word I thought I was the only one that knew what that meant. The Cheliped color is sweet would look cool in a nano... Had any trouble out of him??? Carapace length is close to the common grass or ghost shrimp like Amphrion said...
