Ok, Kevin.. any ideas?
My laptop, a Toshiba P25-S607 powers on, but does not complete bootstrap, the bios screen doesn't even come up. Just a black screen. The power light comes on, drive lights momentarily come on and then go off. I've dissasembled it to see if cpu or mem had become unseated or something else, and can see no evident problems.
I have left it unplugged w/out battery for overnight also.
I'm thinking it is a dead system board, any ideas on anything else to try? It doesn't seem worth it to get a new system board at $950 if that is what is wrong.

We are coming down this weekend anyway. I will bring some tools and try to get there an hour earlier. Can you bring it with you ?
Does said laptop have an AMD processor ? How many sticks of ram ?
I do have a bag of laptop ram we can try. Was the power jack on the back failing before it died, like a loose connection ?
Is this the widescreen 17" model Toshiba ?
If you think it is a board we can go on Toshiba Atlas and get the part number, or I can get it Saturday. More than likely you can do better than $900

The power jack was acting a bit wanky.. but it was because I bought a replacement generic power supply. Think the cheapo power supply might have done it in?
It is the 17" screen with a pentium 2.8ghz processor.
It's a biach to take apart.
