a hydrometer. mine is a little old and i would like to recalibrate it. i heard that you can just wondering. :?:

is this like a deep six ,little float in it ?or a refractometer? if the first all i know is to check it against a refractometer ...

Well, you make a calibration solution, as found here: http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-06/rhf/index.php

You can't actually fully calibrate a hydrometer, but you can make a note of how far it is off and mark that for future reference.
