found bristle worms in zoo that had been closing up

Post by tbmoore »

I have been haveing trouble with a rock full of zoos closing up for about two wks. Today I pulled it out and looked real close and found several bristle worms (grey with red head about 1/2in long)coming out of some holes..Are these the cause of the zoos closing up and are these worms good?

I would say Yes, it might very well be the brostle worms that are causing a problem. I know that bristle worms are a topic of debate as to thier uses in the aquarium, but I have seen first hand them taking out soft coral colonies....but they do a good job in the sand bed too :?

bristle worms only eat dead or decaying animals and food, now, if the zoos are dead, then yeah they would eat them, or...the bristle worms hairs are irritating the zoos when they crawl ontop of them
